Gateway to University Honors
Gateway to Honors is a course that introduces first year students to the Honors Program. The course teaches the requirements of Honors, opportunities within Honors, and practice reflection and documentation of experiences. In this course we set up our Learning Portfolios, explored our passions, and practiced writing our self-designed honors experience proposals.
The experience was extremely beneficial, had it not been for this class I wouldn’t have been informed on a lot of the things necessary to remain in the Honors Program. Taking this course also helped me realize the importance of reflection after any experience for self-development and to truly get the most out of it.
I hope to take away a better understanding of my interests and passions so that I may explore them and make sure to not lose sight of them along my path. I hope to take away knowledge of what I must do to remain in the honors program as well as know where to seek help when I don’t know what to do. Finally, I hope to take away a feeling of inspiration to make my time at UC the best it can be through all the opportunities of the Honors Program.
